About Us

Established in 1995 by DEETYA and various Island organisations, IOGTA’s main purpose was to provide a broad based training company that would concentrate on the development of relevant, cost effective and ongoing vocational education and training for island residents.

Nowadays IOGTA is the primary provider of registered training organisation services to Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands, and continues to successfully provided education, employment, training and community services to both employers and jobseekers within these Indian Ocean Territory communities. As a not-for-profit organisation IOGTA is funded by Commonwealth and State Government departments to ensure affordable training and employment services. Our staff are dedicated to helping you find the right workers, as well as providing training courses to help enhance and further develop their skills.

As a registered Group Training Organisation, IOGTA employ apprentices and trainees and places them with host employers under an agreement to enable the apprentice/trainee to attain the on-job skills associated with their vocation. IOGTA makes apprenticeships, traineeships and training happen.

Employers can transform their business by increasing staff skills, with workplace training and by introducing new skills with apprentices and trainees.

We continually strive for excellence in the innovative and professional delivery of services that enrich our community and environment. As an accredited registered training organisation, group training organisation, employment services agent and with our experience in working with local, remote communities; we offer more than just training!
